SOLAS REGULATIONS II-1 PART-C REGULATIONS 28 AND 29
  • It should be able to operate from 35°on either side to 30° on the other side in within 28 seconds
  • For auxiliary steering gear - It should be able to operate from 15°on either side to 15° on the other side in within 60 seconds
  • Should restart automatically without time delay after power failure recovered
  • Provide audio and visual alarm when power failure
  • Short circuit protection only for control circuit
  • One motor should be connected with ESB
  • Control shall be provided in SG room and BRIDGE
  • Means of communication should be provided in SG and BRIDGE
  • Rudder angle indicator should provide in SG and BRIDGE
  • Fixed storage tank for hydraulic oil
  • Low level alarm for hydraulic oil
  • Running indication should be provided in SG and BRIDGE
  • Overload alarm
  • Phase failure alarm
  • Protection against the excess current not less than twice of full load current
